We’re hiring
Growth Marketing Manager
Paid Media & AI Systems
Efferent Media has been in business for more than 15 years. We think digital marketing is about to change more dramatically than it ever has before.
$65,000 base + performance incentives · target total compensation $75,000–$85,000+
Help us build the next version of an agency.
Efferent Media has been in business for more than 15 years.
During that time, digital marketing has changed repeatedly.
We think it is about to change more dramatically than it ever has before.
We are entering a new chapter built around AI, automation, internal technology and a smaller, highly capable team of people who can think across disciplines rather than stay trapped inside traditional agency roles.
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Manager who wants to help build that with us.
You will work across two brands:
Efferent Media — our full-service digital marketing agency serving businesses on Long Island and beyond.
Vitality Medical Marketing Group — our specialized agency serving elective and cash-pay medical practices across the United States.
This is an opportunity to join an established company while helping shape how its next generation operates.
You are not stepping into a role that has been done the same way for ten years.
You will help define the role.
This is not a traditional media buyer position.
Yes, you will work directly in Google Ads and Meta.
But that is only part of it.
You will also work with creative, landing pages, conversion data, AI systems, automation, analytics and our own internal technology.
We do not want five people passing a campaign between departments.
We want talented people equipped with technology that allows them to accomplish significantly more.
You might identify a performance issue in the morning, analyze the data, develop a new creative direction, modify the landing page, launch a test and build an automated monitor for it — without waiting days for tickets to move between departments.
That is the direction we are heading.
What you will own
You will have meaningful hands-on responsibility for paid-media performance across our client portfolio.
That includes:
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads
- Campaign strategy
- Budget allocation and pacing
- Search terms and negative keywords
- Bidding strategy
- Audience strategy
- Creative testing
- Landing-page performance
- Conversion tracking
- GA4 and GTM
- Offline conversion data
- Lead-quality analysis
- Campaign launches
- Performance troubleshooting
- Client growth opportunities
But we do not believe cost per lead is the finish line.
For our healthcare clients, we want to understand:
Lead → Contact → Consultation → Show → Procedure
For our other clients, the journey may look different, but the philosophy is the same:
Marketing should connect to actual business results.
AI is part of the operating system here.
We are not looking for someone whose AI experience begins and ends with having a chatbot write ad copy.
We are interested in people who are curious about the infrastructure underneath this transformation.
That may include:
- Anthropic
- OpenAI
- n8n
- Zapier
- APIs and webhooks
- AI agents
- Workflow automation
- AI-assisted development
- Data analysis
- Generative image and video systems
- Automated QA and monitoring
- Internal tools and dashboards
You do not have to already be an expert in all of these.
Almost nobody is.
What matters is that you are excited by them.
If you discover that you are manually checking the same thing every morning, your instinct should eventually become:
“Why isn’t a system doing this for me?”
We build our own technology.
We have spent significant time developing internal systems designed to monitor clients, surface problems, automate repetitive work and give our team a clearer picture of what is actually happening.
You will use those systems.
More importantly, you will help us improve them.
If something should exist and does not, we want you to say so.
Sometimes we will build it together.
Sometimes you may build the first version yourself.
Creative is part of performance.
We do not believe a modern performance marketer can completely separate themselves from creative anymore.
You will participate in:
- Ad concepts
- Static creative
- Short-form video
- Copywriting
- Offers
- Landing pages
- Social creative
- Testing concepts
- AI-generated creative experimentation
You do not need to be a professional graphic designer.
You do need good visual judgment.
And you need to be capable of turning an idea into something testable using modern creative and AI tools.
If your default response is:
“That is the designer’s job.”
You probably will not enjoy this role.
If it is:
“Give me a little while. I think I can make that.”
Now we are talking.
We are looking for a builder.
Your background might be in:
- Growth marketing
- Performance marketing
- Google Ads
- Meta advertising
- Digital strategy
- Agency account performance
- Conversion optimization
Several years of experience would certainly help.
But we are more interested in how your brain works than the number of years on your résumé.
You should be analytical, curious, creative and technically adventurous. Comfortable with numbers, and comfortable learning unfamiliar software. Able to work independently. Fast without being reckless. Willing to experiment, and comfortable being wrong. Interested in business, not just marketing. Comfortable questioning existing processes.
And excited rather than threatened by AI.
You do not need to be a programmer.
But we would love it if technology does not intimidate you.
Experience or experimentation with any of the following is useful:
- Anthropic / OpenAI developer ecosystems
- AI-assisted coding tools
- HTML/CSS
- WordPress
- JavaScript
- APIs
- Webhooks
- n8n
- Zapier
- SQL
- Automation platforms
- AI agents
Maybe you have not touched half of these yet.
That is okay.
We are more interested in someone who encounters an unfamiliar technical problem and thinks:
“I bet I can figure this out.”
We are entering a new chapter.
After more than 15 years in business, we are deliberately rethinking how an agency should operate.
We are simplifying. Automating. Building our own technology. Removing unnecessary handoffs. Combining disciplines that technology no longer requires to live in separate departments.
And creating a tighter team where strong people have considerably more influence over what gets built and how work gets done.
That means this position comes with something unusual:
A lot of ownership.
You will be joining while we are actively designing the next operating model for Efferent Media and Vitality Medical Marketing Group.
You will not hear:
“We have always done it this way.”
Very often, we are asking:
“Why do we do it this way at all?”
You will work directly with leadership.
This is not a position buried underneath layers of management.
You will have direct access to the people making decisions about:
- Strategy
- Technology
- Clients
- Products
- Creative
- Automation
- New services
- How the company itself operates
We want someone comfortable walking into the room and saying:
“I think we are doing this wrong.”
Just be prepared to explain why — and help build the better version.
Why this position is in-office
This role is based in our Lindenhurst, Long Island office.
That is intentional.
Not because we believe people cannot be productive remotely.
We have worked remotely for years.
This particular role is different.
We are trying to create an environment where someone can turn around and say:
“Come look at this.”
Ten minutes later we are sketching something.
An hour later we are testing it.
By the afternoon it may be live.
That type of collaboration is difficult to recreate entirely through tickets, messages and scheduled calls.
Your first 90 days
We will not expect you to know everything on day one.
We will expect you to move quickly.
During your first 90 days, you will work toward:
- Understanding our active client portfolio
- Learning our paid-media methodology
- Taking meaningful ownership of Google and Meta performance
- Understanding our internal technology
- Connecting advertising data to actual lead and customer outcomes
- Developing creative testing ideas
- Identifying unnecessary manual work
- Automating or improving recurring processes
- Understanding healthcare marketing compliance requirements
- Building relationships with the rest of the team
- Contributing ideas to how our AI-first operating model should evolve
There is one outcome we would especially love to see:
You build or improve something we never asked you to.
Because you saw the opportunity.
Compensation
Compensation
$65,000 is your guaranteed base salary. Performance incentives target roughly $10,000–$20,000 a year on top of it, based on measurable contribution — that part is a target, not a guarantee, and we would rather be precise about the difference than let a bigger number do the recruiting.
Base salary (guaranteed)
$65,000
Target total compensation
$75,000–$85,000+
Performance incentives: target $10,000–$20,000
Strong performers should have the opportunity to reach the top of that range and beyond.
Performance incentives may consider areas such as:
- Client retention and account health
- Marketing performance
- Lead and consultation quality
- Successful experimentation
- Operational improvements
- Revenue contribution
- AI and automation efficiencies
This is not primarily a sales-commission role.
We simply believe that if your work materially improves our clients and the company, you should participate financially in the value you helped create.
As your contribution grows, we want your opportunity here to grow with it.
This could be a great job for you if…
You have ever worked somewhere and thought:
“I could make this so much better if they would just let me.”
We will.
You will have guardrails.
You will have accountability.
You will have clients depending on you.
But you will also have considerable freedom to experiment, build and improve.
This probably is not a good fit if…
- You need someone to tell you exactly what to do every morning.
- You are uncomfortable working outside a narrowly defined job description.
- You want to manage vendors rather than make things.
- You dislike technology.
- You think AI is a fad.
- You are uncomfortable with change.
- You prefer maintaining established systems to building better ones.
- You are looking for a job where doing exactly what is required is enough.
We are looking for more than that.
And we are willing to reward more than that.
Benefits
We’d rather tell you exactly what exists than make you discover it during onboarding.
- Retirement plan
- Paid time off
- Paid training and professional development
- Opportunities to travel with the team to industry conferences
- A genuinely family-first environment
- Flexible spending benefits planned for 2027
We do not currently offer employer-sponsored health insurance.
If employer health coverage is something you need right now, we want you to know that before you invest time interviewing with us.

We’re building what comes next.
The question we really want answered
Forget the generic cover letter.
Tell us about a time you encountered a problem that technically was not your job to solve — and solved it anyway.
Tell us what you noticed, what you did, what tools you used, and what happened.
This will probably tell us more about whether you will succeed here than another paragraph about being a “results-oriented team player.”
We read every response.
Five minutes. No portal, no account to create.
One last thing
Résumés are useful. They are not particularly good at showing us whether someone will succeed here.
Career change? Fine.
Unusual background? Interesting.
Didn’t spend the last ten years methodically climbing LinkedIn’s approved corporate ladder? Neither did most of us.
Vitality Medical Marketing Group is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
If you need a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, just tell us.
